Red Ribbon Week

Dear Parents and/or Guardians,

Red Ribbon Week is October 23rd-27th. Red Ribbon Week educates the students on living a drug free, healthy life. I am very excited to share the ideas and plans for our upcoming Red Ribbon Week. We have planned an assembly for Wednesday, October 18, 2017. BES will be at 9:15am; BIS will be at 10:30am. The purpose of this assembly is to kick off the start of our Red Ribbon Week and prepare students for the activities we have planned. Our assembly this year will target safety issues and concerns. Since 1987, ThinkFirst of Greater Kansas City has been helping students make safe decisions. They are a group of health care educators and inspiring brain and spinal cord injury survivors that discuss the importance of seat belt and helmet usage, bicycle and pedestrian safety, sports and recreation safety, water safety and avoiding violence.

Red Ribbon Spirit week will include:

  • Monday, October 23rd - “Love Yourself” wear red clothing, hearts, love, etc.
  • Tuesday, October 24th- “From head to toe, I’m drug free” crazy hair and socks.
  • Wednesday, October 25th- “Let’s scare drugs away” wear character or superhero costume/shirts
  • Thursday, October 26th- “Put drugs to sleep” Pajama day
  • Friday, October 27th- “Voting for my future to be drug free” Red, White, & Blue day

Thank you,
