Addis has served as Special Services Coordinator for the past eight years in the Turner School District. Before that, he was an elementary principal in Parsons, Kansas, at Garfield Elementary School, and a Parsons High School Assistant Principal/Activities Director for two years. He earned an Educational Specialist degree (EdS) from Pittsburg State University in 2018, and then went on to earn an Educational Doctorate degree (EdD) in 2021 from the University of Arkansas.
Addis completed his building leadership training in 2010 and received his district leadership certification in 2018 (PK-12). He was a Greenbush Building Leadership Graduate in 2011, a Greenbush District Leadership Graduate in 2015, and also currently serves as an adjunct professor of Teacher and Learning at MidAmerica Nazarene University in Olathe. Additionally, he brings his extensive experience in special education, familiarity with special education laws, 504 plans, SIT, and general education intervention strategies to Basehor-Linwood High School.
“I look forward to meeting the staff, students and parents of Basehor-Linwood High School next year," Addis said. "My goal is to hold students to a high standard that encourages personal responsibility, integrity, and the desire to succeed academically."
Dr. Addis completes the administrative changes at Basehor-Linwood High School for next school year, after Mrs. Erin Morrison was moved from Assistant Principal to Principal officially announced in December. Mr. Ross Schwisow still serves as Assistant Principal/Athletic Director, Dr. Jacob Linnell still serves as Assistant Principal, and Mr. Jared Jackson remains as Director of Innovative Programs and Director of Basehor-Linwood Virtual School.
