Isaacsen has a degree in School Leadership, and most recently has three years experience serving as a principal in the Shawnee Mission School District. Prior to that, he has six years serving as principal and an additional five years as assistant principal in other metro area districts.
“We are thrilled to have Mr. Isaacsen join us as principal at Basehor-Linwood Middle School,” USD 458 Superintendent Doug Powers said. “Mr. Isaacsen has a vast amount of experience, and we are excited for him to bring his experience in Professional Learning Communities, staff development, program initiatives, and student discipline to BLMS next year.”
"I firmly believe that every student who is provided with a positive learning experience can be successful," Isaacsen said. "School should be both exciting and enjoyable, while providing a platform for exploration and enhancement of student confidence."
In 2014, Mr. Isaacsen was named the KAMSA Middle School Assistant Principal of the Year for his work with students and staff at Turner Middle School.
"If you build a great school environment, the joy of learning increases for staff and students," Isaacsen said. "New challenges excite me, and working with Mr. Hornbaker, the staff and the students of BLMS will allow me to build upon the great educational programs already in place at Basehor-Linwood Middle School."
